Ozzie had his CT scan on Wednesday. Here are two coronal images showing a large complex cystic mass in his left chest. It's hard to tell, but it looks like it may be arising from a left secondary bronchus. There is definitely a lot of "mass effect" on his esophagus, which you can see on the lower image. He has an enlarged right supraclavicular lymph node, which is not a good sign as it indicates a metastasis. The surgeon would not operate on the tumor ~ a large malignancy of some kind.At this point, we have him scheduled to meet with an oncologist next Tuesday, and we'll see if there is anything that we can do to significantly prolong his life in a meaningful way. Chemotherapy will hopefully be an option. We're not willing to put him through anything terrifying or to decrease the quality of his life, but maybe there is something that we can do to keep him with us (and happy!) for as long as possible. We do still have some hope for our sweet boy. Thanks for the prayers.
