We haven't had any pictures of us "done" in a while. So we asked our friend Jerry, semi-professional photographer, retired marathoner, yogi, almost-vegetarian, and all around good guy, to do some shots of us around our home this weekend. Jerry did our wedding photos 4 and a 1/2 years ago, and we needed some updated shots for our adoption folder.

Jerry's artistic flair frequently includes a beautiful nude, and, yes, lovely is as lovely does, but no nudes yesterday at our house! We are sorry to disappoint any of our avid readers. Although the romantic notion of black and white film was held in great esteem at the time of our wedding in 2005, we were happy to learn that Jerry finally (possibly begrudgingly) gave in to the swift hand of technology, and switched to digital photography.
76 pictures later and voila!
(For those of you dying to see our photos which include the whole gorgeous furry family, well, you will just have to wait patiently for our holiday card, the production of which entailed a weekend's worth of work, sweat, and tough decisions!)
On another note, we had our very first meeting with our social worker today. After some cleaning (thankfully, Martina took care of most of it on Friday), and just a small bit of bickering as to whether to leave the bark collars on our dogs, the candles lit, the windows open or closed, and whether to put our dogs in Guy's office or to let them greet the social worker in all of their fiery glory, whether to admit that we have firearms, and whether to hide the wine and beer collection and cover the built-in keg spout ... all went well. We left the bark collars on but let the dogs run free, we blew out the cookie-scented candles, we admitted to having firearms, and, no, we didn't hide the wine. But, boy, we do think that we will make some kick-@$$ parents.
